Fall Weddings are one of my favorites! Ok, well, I love all weddings, but particularly here in the Palm Springs area, a Fall wedding can be quite delightful. The temperatures drop, it starts to feel “chilly” (we’re in the 70’s now, lol), love and Holiday’s are in the air! Courtney and Kyle’s DIY country, rustic, chic wedding was beautiful! Details upon details were visible every turn you made at the Young Estate. From their own wedding hashtags, to yellow hanging lanterns and the Bride appearing behind giant shutter doors down the isle to her Groom. Their carefully selected color scheme in greys, teals, yellow, white and pops of red made it so enchanting and unique. It was a beautiful day, and as you will see the clouds just made it even more spectacular!
For this Wedding we asked the Bride a few Questions…check out the Wedding Day sneak peek and Q & A’s below.
Q. What advice would you give other Brides and Grooms?
A. Be flexible. Don’t grind yourself down worrying about all the details. Delegate tasks so you can spend more time focusing on important things, like marrying the love of your life! —Also, people was to help, so let them. It’s one less things for you to worry about and it makes people feel special when you let them be involved in your special day.
Q. What was your favorite moment of the day? (ironically this was my personal favorite too – a photographer can have a favorite moment right? 🙂
A. By far the best moment was walking out behind the shutter doors and watching them pull to the side and seeing my husband standing there for the first time. Seeing his reaction was one thing that still brings tears to my eyes just thinking about.
Q. We love details, can you tell us about your dress and grooms attire?
A. I found my dress at a little boutique shop In Escondido, Brides by Susanti. I loved it there. The front room is all normal stock but they have a back room full or one off dresses or discontinued lines that are half what they would have cost originally. My dress was a $6000 dollar dress that I got for $1000. The Men including my husband rented there tuxes at Friar Tux. The bridesmaids all wore there own dresses. All various styles and shade of grey (I was going for an ombré look with the bridesmaids dresses being all different.)
Q. Last, but certainly not least, how did you meet, fall in love and get engaged!
A. We met in college, it was a small Christian College in San Diego. We actually were friends for about 4 years before any interest came about. We spent a lot of time through the years really getting to know each other and developing our friendship and we finally got to a point where we realized our great friendship has progressed into something more. Pretty much as soon as we started dating we knew we were meant for each other. We dated for about 9 months before getting engaged. Kyle proposed a week before my 23rd birthday. Kyle’s a pilot and up until the day we got engaged I had never flown with him. He planed this big ordeal, we rented a plane and flew all around San Diego. Just before sunset we landed in this small runway in Fallbrook California surrounded by a nursery of flowers. We got out of the plane and went to walk around, and with the sun setting on the coast in the background he got to one knee an proposed. A little over 2 months later we were married. 🙂
