It was a cool spring day for grad portraits in Palm Springs. Megan and I were quite excited for our grad session together. I”ve had the privilege of knowing Megan and her family for many years. I’ll be honest, I am quite a bit older than she is, which made it even harder for me to picture the little girl that I used to see running around with her sister, is now a college graduate! (no, I don’t feel old or anything (insert sarcasm), haha!
Megan arrived wearing my favorite color – teal, right away I knew our session was going to be amazing, because well teal and fashion for me are a huge win win when it comes to portrait session attire! Plus, she is stunning – really, really, REALLY beautiful inside and out!
Our shoot was outdoors, which gave us beautiful natural light. The light falling from the trees made our portrait session perfect! Those of you who have been a part of any of my sessions know that I tend to get a little “ooh and ah” and “oh this light” during our shoots; the excitement of beautiful people and beautiful light always amazes me!
I asked Megan if she would give us a glimpse inside her world as a college graduate and one who has great aspirations for her own clothing boutique! (awesome!)
Megan:
I recently graduated from Brandman University with a MBA. I thought I would have a ton of free time after graduating but instead we’ve been remodeling our first home and have plans to flip it within the first year! I also started a business with my boyfriend this year, Joshua Christopher Designs. We specialize in custom glass services for residential and commercial properties. You can find us on Facebook and Instagram. I have a bad addiction to an online boutique shophopes.com and it shows since I’m wearing one of their dresses in our shoot 🙂 My ultimate dream is to own my own online clothing boutique and I am confident I will one day.
I tend to doubt myself quite frequently but one thing I’ve learned to do for myself is that when a good decision is presented to me, I think very little about it and just make a commitment so I can’t turn back. That’s what I’ve done with my undergrad degree, joining a sorority, pursuing my MBA, starting a business, and buying a house. But those things have all turned out to be some of my best memories and defining chapters in my life.
When I foolishly doubt myself or have those fears creeping in, I like to remember the verse, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future ‘” Jeremiah 29:11. That verse reminds me to always believe in my abilities and to never doubt the amazing opportunities God has placed in front of me. I’m very excited for my future!
Congratulations again Megan on your MBA! Such a wonderful accomplishment and I am so excited to see what God is going to do in your future! Now onto her beautiful college grad portraits in Palm Springs!
