Lori and Byron’s Destination Wedding at Desert Willow Golf Resort was beautiful!
The weather had called for “bright and sunny”, which is pretty typical for our desert; however, in the wee morning hours I was awakened by one of the most amazing lightning shows I had seen in our valley in a very long time. Thunder claps, booms and bright flashes illuminated the sky for hours. It was also “Wedding Day” for our lovely couple – who ironically traveled from a rainy state to our beautiful sunny desert for their destination wedding, hmm, it was now pouring!
I thought about a similar scenario that happened the year before, our Bride and Groom at the time were also getting married at Desert Willow, they too had traveled from another state; and I recalled their amazing sky that is now one of my favorite wedding shots. The grey, rainy ominous clouds brought beauty to their wedding. So, the only thing to do was to pray for the same thing. 🙂
God always knows what we need, and I needed a gorgeous sky, amazing light and for the rain to hold off long enough to get through their wedding ceremony and portraits, lol! That is exactly what happened! There were a few sprinkles that let loose near the end of our “fun” pictures, but that just made it all the more memorable.
Surrounded by their family, Lori and Byron were married on the terrace overlooking one of the many lakes, the golf course and that beautiful cloudy sky. The joining of two families with a colorful sand ceremony couldn’t have been any more touching. Sisters and Brothers, silly sibling antics and lots of laughs brought the most cherished memories that day. The love that abounded within the now, Bride and Groom and their family was evident and it was a joy to be a part of.
Congratulations to Lori and Byron, we wish you many years of happiness and blessings!
