Top 3 Tips from Desert Willow Golf Course, Palm Desert

1.  When planning to visit venues make sure to call ahead to schedule a tour with the onsite events and catering representative. Calling ahead to schedule a tour will ensure there is a representative on property the day you plan to visit and that they will be available to give you a tour and set aside enough time to explain Wedding Packages and answer questions.

2.  Once you have visited and toured your potential venues don’t be afraid to ask the venue for a proposal containing your preferences from their packages. Wedding Packages from venues are all structured a little differently and having a clearly laid out proposal may help you realize any hidden fees missed during a tour. Sometimes a venue may seem very affordable but is priced al la carte, once everything is added up it may be quite a bit more than expected.

3.  When it comes to vendors, making sure you understand who is responsible for particular aspects of your wedding will help you achieve a smooth and successful event and ensure no last minute surprises. Clear communication, defined tasks, and specific attention to detail will make all the difference in the world when it comes to enjoying your wedding day. Generally a catering representative is hired as a sales representative for the venue, this person will help you determine what type of food and beverage decisions and preferred layout  for the event. This may include creating a proposal with associated fees, schedule a food tasting and creating a venue diagram. Most often the event sales representative will transition and relay all details of the event to the venue’s operations manager who will guide venue staff day of your event with details specific to the venue. A wedding coordinator is your personal consultant throughout the planning process in effectively organizing all details not limited to the venue but your wedding as a whole, including; your event timeline, decoration, budget and vendor commitments. Your wedding coordinator will be the go to person the day of your event in ensuring your specific vision is implemented day of the event.

Thank you Desert Willow for the awesome wedding planning tips!
