“The ring is like the sun, because the sun came out when I met you on a Ferris wheel”. True melt your heart words spoken by the Groom, ‘J’, when proposing to his now Bride, ‘K’. their love story gets even sweeter…below the background and interview I had with this gorgeous couple.
K. is a woman of style, passion, and love. As a relationship coach and playwright (her play was nominated for a NAACP award!), K.’s creativity and vision for our session together had me so excited. After chatting with her I clearly understood how she and he were such a perfect fit for one another. J. is a brand specialist for a large corporation. Combine both backgrounds and you get a precise vision, with detailed direction explaining what they would like our session to accomplish. I loved it!
In my interview with K. I asked her a few fun questions, her answers below.
Q. “Where did you pull your anniversary session concepts from?”
K.: “We pulled them from travel, books (both are avid readers). We thought about who we are as a couple in our marriage, then created a shot list.”
Coming from two creative minds, I found this to be pretty awesome! I loved that they took the time to dig deep and create such concepts.
Q. “Tell me about your dog Fluffy”
K. “January 1st I always create a new vision board. On this board was a tea cup Maltese…several months later that year (actually, the night of her birthday), she saw a dog running in the street. She stopped and picked up this puppy, can you guess what it was? A tea cup Maltese! She didn’t have any tags, so she took her to the vet, had her examined, no micro chip either and the rest is history. Fluffy and K. were clearly meant to be.
Q. “What else was on your vision board”
K. “A big huge ring” (laughing).
As we chatted together, she gave me some insight as to the beautiful ring that she now wears – which has it’s own love story that had me swooning!
First off, her ring definitely hit her vision board mark, it is beautiful, ‘big and huge’, lol! But what’s even more meaningful is that her husbands Grandfather, was himself a jeweler, and had designed and set the beautiful stones. As if that were not awesome enough, she went on to tell me that this ring had already been given in love, as it was given to J’s Grandmother, by his Grandfather! What a fabulous circle, and how amazing is it that those particular things, which K. believed she would one day receive on her vision board, were actually coming to pass! I truly believe there is a greater power behind that, but that’s another post :).
For now I leave you with K & J’s Anniversary Celebration Session! Making memories every year with a new photo-shoot! Enjoy!
After meeting online, it was only fitting that we incorporated a shot of the two of them behind their computers.
Both creative minds are avid readers. Here they are relaxing and enjoying their time together.
Fluffy, the cutest Maltese is their joy!
Romance and Champagne time.
Happy Anniversary K & J! Cheers to many years to come!
