Today’s Top 5 wedding planning tips with Lola Kent; a highly sought after professional in the wedding and event planning business!

I met Lola about four years ago and I was immediately drawn to her personality and style. Lola’s enthusiasm is evident the moment you begin to chat weddings and events with her. Which is exactly why I wanted to begin our weekly VENDOR LOVE posts with Lola Kent Weddings and Events! Lola is a joy to work with and today she has brought you her top 5 wedding planning tips. What better way to ease your wedding planning than tips from a pro! P.S. I love tip #4!
5 Wedding tips from Lola Kent Wedding & Events
1. Have a vision of the type of wedding you both would like to have. This makes it so much easier when you start planning and looking at venues that share a part of the vision.
2. Take your time in planning and don’t rush anything. I always recommend that brides start with accomplishing the top 5 key details for weddings as the rest will fall into place.

Dress
Photographer
Invitations
Catering options
3. Don’t be so caught up in perfection that you miss the fun of the wedding. Too often brides get so caught up in the perfection aspect (details) that they end up not enjoying their wedding. Your wedding is a celebration of 2 people coming together and sharing their live with friends and family.
4. Share something personal with your guests. Weddings that share something personal about the couple are always have such a bigger impact on their guests.
One couple I worked with had both lost their grandparents in the same year and they honored them both during their ceremony. There was not a dry eye among the guests.
5. Prioritize and remind yourself what’s important to you and your groom.
I also asked Lola if she could share why it’s so important to have a wedding planner, read below.
Importance of a wedding planner –
Most friends and family members are not professional planners. I believe that the most important role that friends and family of the bride and groom can play is active witnesses and celebrators of the marriage. That role is crucial and not one that is easily accomplished if they have the added responsibilities of managing the event. So, even if your friends/family members are playing an active role in the wedding planning process prior to the wedding day, hiring a day-of wedding planner will free them up to play their most important role on your wedding day. – Lola
As a wedding photographer, I will be honest, I am thrilled when there is a wedding planner involved. A day-of wedding planner is wonderful not only for the Bride and Groom, but also for those whom you’ve hired to capture and create the atmosphere of love and serenity. A wedding planner is the “go to” for all of those little details that most guests don’t see. The extra golf cart needed to escort grandparents from the lawn to the reception area, the behind the scenes problem solver, the one who eases your mind and keeps your day on track. At the end of your wedding day, the goal should be to celebrate your love and marriage, not to be asked questions about what you’d like to do next on the schedule.
I encourage you to consider hiring a wedding planner, and not just any wedding planner. Hire a planner, such a Lola Kent, who has a background in planning weddings and events. Who loves what they do and who will be bringing you more wedding insider tips soon.
